Forever Hold Your Peace

INSPIRATIONAL INJECTION: Monday, March 7, 2011

“A happy life must be to a great extent a quiet life, for it is only in an atmosphere of quiet that true joy dare live.” – Bertrand Russell

In Ecclesiastes 3:1 – it says to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: there is even a time to keep silent (Eccl. 3:7). Saying or not saying the right thing (at the right time), is very important – sometimes even crucial!

Today, you should remain silent, because holding your peace and biting your tongue are synonymous. For the simple fact, that trying to vent, and getting your point across will only make matters worse:

  • Other people may not believe YOU; they have their own beliefs and perspective on life. And the more you try to express your belief – the more others resist YOU!
  • People hear what they ‘want’ to hear (and yes, YOU do the same).
  • Others will misunderstand YOU, and take what YOU say the wrong way.

It’s not about just remaining silent – but, I’m referring to a state of being. PEACE, is a state of being, not necessarily an act of silence. However, the actions of remaining quiet, staying calm, and being non argumentative (even if you’re 1000% right) – will only lead you a peaceful state of being.

Or as the elders usta’ say: “….hold yo’ peace, let the Lord fight yo’ battles!”

TODAYS SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:

  • Psalms 34:12-14 (I Peter 3:10-12)
  • I Timothy 2:1
