Taking It Straight To The Head!

“Whatever, your present environment may be, you will fall, remain or rise with your thoughts…you will become as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration” ~ James Lane Allen

The title of todays Inspirational Injection may have somewhat of a negative connotation; generally referred to, as drinking alcohol on an empty stomach. Which causes an almost immediate reaction or sensation of going ‘straight to the head.’ Since there is nothing to stop or filter the alcohol from going directly into the blood stream – you will ultimately get drunk faster!

Why, am I saying all this? Very simply, if we go through the day – and have nothing to absorb or filter our thoughts – then our experiences (be it negative or positive) will happen a lot faster. And quite possibly, with more damaging results. It is often said, that ‘thoughts become things’…however, we can control what type of thing(s) the thought becomes, simply by filtering it.

So, as you go throughout today, filter your thoughts through Philippians 4:8 by asking yourself – Is This Thought….

  • True?
  • Honest?
  • Just?
  • Pure?
  • Lovely?
  • Of A Good Report?
  • Virtuous?
  • Does It Give God Praise?

And if it doesn’t fall into one of these 8 categories then, you probably shoudn’t be thinking it! Yes, it will take some discipline…and you probably won’t catch EVERY single thought; but as you follow this process, your day will go much better, because you controlled your outward experience – by filtering it in your mind first! NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL TAKING IT STRAIGHT TO THE HEAD!

Enjoy your Tuesday!
