INSPIRATIONAL INJECTION: October 10, 2012
You don’t have to control your thoughts; you just have to stop letting them control you. ~Dan Millman
Today’s Inspirational Injection is a small excerpt from “Every Man A King” by Orison Swett Marden Chapter 13 – Thinking Brings Success:
The belief in limitations, the conviction that we cannot rise out of our environments, that we are the victims of circumstances, is responsible for a weakening of achievement faculties and an undermining of executive ability which cause untold tragic failures, a large part of the poverty and wretchedness of mankind. Such belief is abnormal, and it produces abnormal conditions. Dominion was man’s birthright, but he has adopted weakness and limitation. He has claimed poverty, wretchedness, and slavery in place of riches, happiness, and freedom, and how can a man rise out of his wretchedness until he thinks and believes he can? Is there any science whereby a man can, when he thinks he can’t? Is there any philosophy whereby a man can rise, until he looks up? Is there any way by which a man can succeed while he thinks, talks, and lives a failure? Man cannot go in opposite directions at the same time; there is no certainty in the presence of doubt. Until you erase “fate” and “can’t” and “doubt” from your vocabulary, you cannot rise. You cannot get strong while you harbor convictions of your weakness, or be happy while you dwell on your miseries or misfortunes.
The bottom line is this: It is YOU (your inner I AM) that is the master of your thoughts! The realization and awareness of our God-given inherent power, automatically gives us the ability to succeed at ANYTHING (all things being consistent)!! Anything less than being the master of our thoughts “spoils” the plans of our Creator (I say this as a man). But when we stop allowing our thoughts to control us, then we revolutionize our very own lives, and abolish most of our troubles! One way to do this, is to, throughout the day run your I AM consciousness, through the filter of Philippians 4:8 …”was what I just thought honest…was it true…was it justified…was it pure…etc. ?” — I know it’s a hard task at first, but once we become aware of our thoughts, we can then guide our nature!
