The Virtue of The Prepared Mind!

INSPIRATIONAL INJECTION: October 24, 2012

Many failures in demonstration are because we do not force our expectations to keep pace with our desires..~Mary Morrissey

Proverbs 6:6-11: “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: so shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.”

In the above scripture, Solomon plainly addresses “the sluggard”. What is a sluggard? Many will conclude that a sluggard is a lazy procrastinator that is full of excuses for not getting things done. And, I would agree with them, except, I will like to go one step further – and say, that a sluggard is someone who is not prepared in mind to take the necessary action (although he or she has the ability and knowledge), needed at any given opportunity! The reason for being unproductive and allowing opportunities to slip away, is first the result of not being prepared mentally, and as a result “sluggardish” sets in.

Are you prepared in mind to finish the things that you start? Are you prepared in mind to not give in to excuses? Are you prepared in mind to not take the “easy road” when it comes to work?

If not, then be like the industrious ant and prepare your mind for action – not out of compulsion or necessity, but with the God-given ability that you have already! Please, consider the ant!!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!
