Endurance in Discipline

WEEK 2: Increasing In Our Discernment!

Day 11, April 14-15, 2015     {Psalm 119:81-88}
Today is the energy of Endurance in Discipline. Think about a part of your life you have given up on. Is there more you can still do? Instead of feeling like a victim and shutting down, today take responsibility for what went wrong and do something to open up again.

~Karen Berg

Endurance, persistence, perseverance…all ways to describe continuing effort. When we overcome obstacles by applying stamina, whether physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual, we become more strong. Think of how the quiet, constant flow of a river wears down stones, or goes around them and still gets downstream. Just as stones are not barriers to water applied over time, the barriers we seem to encounter in life can be gently eroded. Building up strength slowly, as every person in physical therapy, rehabilitation or an exercise program knows, is most effective.

Biblical Affirmation and Meditations For

DAY 11

Everyday after sundown, starting from the second evening of Passover – until the night before (what we call) Pentecost; the following blessing is recited just prior to stating the count of the Omer:

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.

Today is Day 11 of the Omer.

After this blessing is affirmed and the count declared – it is tradition to recite this short prayer:

O Compassionate One! May Christ return for us the Service of the Temple to its Place, speedily and in Our time! AMEN.

STEP 4: Read, Meditate and Live (1)Karen Berg’s Quote above, and (2)The following Scriptures:

Scripture Verses For Day 11:

2 Chronicles 6:14 (NIV) – He said:

“Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way….”

James 3:1-6 (ESV)

1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

2 For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well.

4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.

5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.
