The Indwelling Presence within Discipline

WEEK 2: Increasing In Our Discernment!

Day 14, April 17-18, 2015     {Psalm 119:105-112}
Today is the energy of Leadership in Discipline. Today when you see the things you want to change in yourself, remember human dignity begins with you. Mistakes are part of the plan. That is why pencils have erasers. When you can move easily out of your own mistakes, you can help others move easily out of theirs.

~Karen Berg

I so often coin the phrase that we are “God in Action”…and then come around and confess that we’re just mere Human BEings. It’s a very interesting paradox. And without the discipline to discern the indwelling Presence of God within we cannot “Lead” others properly.

Lead and Leadership are often misplaced. I often hear (mostly from single females) my friends say, “the Man is supposed to Lead…” How ignorant can we “BE”? Ladies just because a man is walking in front of you doesn’t make him a leader. Especially, if he’s not spiritual…or at the very least recognize that the Divine Presence within.

The truth is, that the Holy Presence is and always will be in and through us. However, it takes discipline to acknowledge this. {Proverbs 3:6} It is in Christ that all our decisions, judgments and activities, should be made. {Acts 17:28}

But because we’re human – we so often forget this! Yes, it is a fact that we are human; but I come to tell you today that we are so much more! We are indeed God in Action! All we have to do is remember! When we remember this great truth we will always have loving protection, deep insight, and spiritual guidance available to be true leaders of our families, churches, jobs, and communities.

Men with Divine Presence within our Discipline we can and will enrich the lives of our women. We can then lead with dignity, and by not just setting rules for women to follow! {i.e. 1 Timothy 2:12, 1 Corinthians 11:6, 1 Corinthians 14:34}

And besides, need I remind you that guidelines and rules are not the same thing. The wise ruler and respectful leader sets up boundaries within which a number of correct decisions are possible….these are guidelines. Rules, are the other hand, are binary: either you break the rule or follow it. Today we should recognize the presence of the Holy One within some religious rules (Do not murder, for example) as well as in religious guidelines (Rejoice on the festival–without specific instructions!, for example).

As we conclude this week, we let us recall the usefulness of proper discernment and discipline in all aspects of our lives.

Everyday after sundown, starting from the second evening of Passover – until the night before (what we call) Pentecost; the following blessing is recited just prior to stating the count of the Omer:

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.

Today is Day 14 of the Omer.

After this blessing is affirmed and the count declared – it is tradition to recite this short prayer:

O Compassionate One! May Christ return for us the Service of the Temple to its Place, speedily and in Our time! AMEN.

STEP 4: Read, Meditate and Live (1)Karen Berg’s Quote above, and (2)The following Scriptures:
