The Indwelling Presence within Discipline

WEEK 2: Increasing In Our Discernment!

Day 14, Original Post: April 17-18, 2015     {Read Psalm 119:105-112}
Today is the energy of Leadership in Discipline. Today when you see the things you want to change in yourself, remember human dignity begins with you. Mistakes are part of the plan. That is why pencils have erasers. When you can move easily out of your own mistakes, you can help others move easily out of theirs.

~Karen Berg

I so often coin the phrase, that, “We are ‘God in Action’…”; and, yet I will also confess that, “we’re [just mere] Human BEings!” It’s a very interesting paradox. Without the discipline to discern the difference – we will not “Lead” others properly.

Lead and Leadership are often misplaced. I often hear my friends (mostly from single females) say, “the Man is supposed to Lead…” Quick Question: How ignorant can we “BE”? Ladies, just because a man is walking in front of you or takes on the initiative – doesn’t necessarily make him “a Leader” or “Masculine” or etc…Especially, if he’s not Spiritual…or, if he doesn’t  recognize the Divine Presence, within himself!

The truth is, the Holy Presence of GOD IS (and ALWAYS Will BE) in and through US…ALL of Us!!

Genesis 5:1c-2b KJV in the likeness of GOD created He Him, Male and Female, Created He THEM; and Blessed THEM – and Called THEIR Name: Adam!!

In our ignorance, we’re not only, led by gender roles, guidelines, and judgements…but we then, (very foolishly) base our decisions upon them!! It is in Christ and the Spirit of the Living GOD –  that all our decisions, judgments and activities, should be made. {Acts 17:28} However, it takes DISCIPLINE, to not only recognize and acknowledge this {Proverbs 3:6} – but, to also cultivate this type of leadership within ourselves (regardless of gender)!!

This Divine Expression of Discipline – DOES NOT compromise our supposedly Sovereignty – but, on the contrary – it fostesr our humanity. We are indeed, God in Action! Once we (by discipline), remind ourselves of this great truth, we will BE the REAL leaders of our families, churches, jobs, and communities!!

As we conclude this week, we let us recall the usefulness of proper discernment and discipline in all aspects of our lives.

Coming Back From A Set Back

“Do not ask for an easy life, ask for the strength to endure the hard one.” ~Bruce Lee

Endurance_1bEndurance is the power to withstand something challenging. The noun endurance contains endure means “suffer or undergo” and the suffix -ance means “the state of…”or what I define as “State of Being” – otherwise referred to as ACTION. Endurance can also be used to describe the physical strength to keep going; as in a running a marathon but it can also be used when discussing an exhausting spiritual situation, mental strain or a stressful time.

The energy to bounce back from heartbreaks, disappointments, and financial difficulties is Endurance in Action. As long we remind ourselves (and we might to do this often) – that the END (which is another root word of endurance) ALWAYS justifies the means!{Ecclesiastes 7:8}

So, in this sense Endurance – is the state of BEing resolute – fully knowing that as long as we have breath in bodies we can and will overcome any thing that seems to set us back. That no matter how many times we fall, that if we just get up – then Life will reward us in the end. And if you have yet received your desired reward – then it’s not the END…urance!

James 1:2-4(KJV)

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James 1:12(KJV)

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

The Secret 3-Step Process (part 2)

“Believing and being are one. The conceiver and his conception are one. Therefore, that which you conceive yourself to be can never be so far off as even to be near, for nearness implies separation. “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. If you assume that you are that finer, nobler one you wish to be, you will see others as they are related to your high assumption.”~Neville Goddard

Walk With God2In my last post I briefly discussed my secret formula for the manifestation process. And if you read it – you might be thinking to yourself – that ASSUME is inferior to BELIEF. Allow me to clarify what I mean. You see, ASSUME is the root word of ASSUMPTION – and this not just your typical supposing, speculating or taking something for granted (because we know what happens when we ASS-U-ME {lol}). It goes beyond that.

Assumption is the Law of BE~ING! And in ACTION it means to appropriate FAITH as to become one with your desire! As co-creators, whether consciously or unconsciously – are constantly using the Spirit of God. You see, the Spirit of God is an ACTION that is manifested into our world via our imagination. In other words, thoughts don’t become things – THOUGHTS ARE THINGS! And you and become the very thing that we imagine. In the world of ACTION there is no separation between – BEING (YOU in your essence) and Imagination.  Now once we take on the role or ASSUME the Spirit behind the thought or imagination – that thought or imagination then is clothed as our life experiences, circumstances and events.

Simply put, you and your desire(s) are one.  You may be wondering, why is it that I don’t get my desires?    Or I prayed, visualized, said affirmations, asked, believed….but; I haven’t received…why is that? Because, we do not ASSUME! Assumption is the missing piece. As long as we continue to relate to G~D as an external Father (and not the indwelling Spirit) – we alienate ourselves from ASSUMING our responsibility to Co-Partner with G~D in the manifestation process.

What do I mean? As long we continue to ASSUME that the Father (GOD) will take care of everything; then we abandon our role in appropriating the FAITH needed to manifest our desires.  Assumption means imagining Co-Partnering with the God of Universe to bring about a desired end. Can you imagine that?!

Assume that not only are you and God are one –but that you and your desires are one with God! Appropriating FAITH (to rely on by an inward certainty) – in this Assumption means, to consciously bring yourself, to state of BEING that which God desires to experience, in and through you! It’s really not complicated – the fact that you have the desire – means that God desires to experience that desire it in your BEING!

Take a good look at the life around you. What are your intentions? What are your desires? Assumption is done when our “human” (Divine) faculties of imagination express the feelings of experiencing – right now -the fulfillment of our desires – regardless of or contrary to what you BELIEVE or see on the outside. What you believe and see, may reveal a fact in your life; but that is not the TRUTH concerning you. {Jeremiah 29:11}

This is why the spiritual tools of Praise and Gratitude are soooo important. The ACTION of Gratitude brings our focus, attention and intention (i.e. the Spirit of God) into the present – empowering our lives with many benefits and blessings.

Let the others continue to ask, believe, and receive – but you know better – and once you know better you do better – all you have to do is assume, have faith, and praise

THE TREASURES WE SEEK

There is a story told about a man who dreamed of a huge treasure hidden in a castle in Spain. Believing his dream to be a message of a real treasure, the man set out to travel the distance to find it. The road was long and treacherous, and when he reached the castle, he found it heavily guarded and almost impossible to enter. For a few days, the man tried unsuccessfully to bypass the guards and get inside, but he could find no entrance.

With all his other options exhausted, the man decided to share his dream with one of the guards, hoping that the guard would let him in if he promised to share the spoils once inside. But when he finished telling his dream, he received a reaction he didn’t expect. The guard went pale-faced and stunned because just the night before, he, too, had had a dream in which he was instructed to tell a foreigner looking for treasure that the treasure was buried beneath the foreigner’s own home. Sure enough, when the man returned to his country, he found the treasure.

Sometimes, we need to go a long way and try many things to discover that the “treasure” we seek is right there in our own house. We may find ourselves jealous and coveting another’s situation, but we don’t see the whole picture of that person’s life. We don’t see the journey and the suffering that the person may have gone through to earn what he or she has.

As spiritual human beings, we need to cultivate a desire and appreciation for our own blessings.

How To Advance Your Definite Aim!

How to Develop a Definite Major Purpose
(from Think & Grow Rich, chapter on Autosuggestion)

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once to put this plan into action. The instructions given in connection with the six steps in the chapter will now be summarized, and blended with the principles covered by this chapter, as follows:

Go into some quiet spot (preferable in bed at night where you will not be disturbed or interrupted, close your eyes, and repeat aloud (so you may hear your own words) the written statement of the amount of money you intend to accumulate, the time limit for its accumulation, and a description of the service or merchandise you intend to give in return for the money. As you carry out these instructions, see yourself already in possession of the money.

For example, suppose that you intend to accumulate $50,000 by the first of January, five years hence, that you intend to give personal services in return for the money, in the capacity of a salesman. Your written statement of your purpose should be similar to the following: By the first day of January, 20.., I will have in my possession $50,000, which will come to me in various amounts from time to time during the interim.

In return for this money I will give the most efficient service of which I am capable, rendering the fullest possible quantity, and the best possible quality of service in the capacity of salesman of _______________________________________ (describe the service or merchandise you intend to sell).

I believe that I will have this money in my possession. My faith is so strong that I can now see this money before my eyes. I can touch it with my hands. It is now awaiting transfer to me at the time and in the proportion that I deliver the service I intend to render in return for it. I am awaiting a plan by which to accumulate this money, and I will follow that plan, when it is received.

Repeat this program night and morning until you can see (in your imagination) the money you intend to accumulate.

Place a written copy of your statement where you can see it night and morning, and read it just before retiring, and upon arising until it has been memorized. Remember, as you carry out these instructions, that you are applying the principle of autosuggestion for the purpose of giving orders to your subconscious mind.

Remember also that your subconscious mind will act only upon instructions which are emotionalized and handed over to it with “feeling.” Faith is the strongest and most productive of the emotions.

Father Knows Best!

My LifeIt is only our desire to anthropomorphize God that has us think that God’s mind works like our own. ~James C. Wilhelm

Since ‘His'(?) ways are past finding out {Romans 11:33} – we have no other option but to allow God to have ‘His'(?) way in all our decisions, goals, dreams, desires, or aspirations. God is going to have ‘His'(?) way anyway, however, the mistake we make is in trying to figure “how” an experience will come about in our lives.

Let us forget “how”, and the rest of the entails; life is simple: JUST TRUST GOD!!! Since ‘His'(?) ways and thoughts are most definitely higher than ours {Isaiah 55:8-9}…in fact, God doesn’t “think” at all! (‘He'(?) left that up to us).

The choices made by our conscious mind – will not always result in a “favorable” outcome. I use the word “favorable” in quotes – for the simple fact that everything works together for our good and in our favor {Romans 8:28} – regardless if we recognize this truth or not!!

Even if we don’t always get what we want; we always get exactly what we need! So our job should not be – to figure out “how” something is going to come about – but our actions should only be geared toward seeking out Gods’ will for our lives.

So if you desire to manifest without side effects – Trust God – for Father Knows Best!! Again, let’s not worry ourselves with the “hows” of life. In manifesting our goals the only thing we need to know is what steps are instructed to us by God {Proverbs 3:6} – and from there, knowledge of the next steps will reveal itself – in due time.

Don’t Be Busy…Be Fruitful!

I encourage you to take an inventory of what you do throughout the day. You might be doing something God’s not asking you to do, or something He was asking you to do but isn’t anymore. Let the Holy Spirit show you how to get rid of busyness and bear more fruit. ~Joyce Meyer

Being Fruitful

Trees bear fruit. So do vines. But, how fruitful are you and I in the spiritual realm? You and I may be  doing ‘stuff’ – but is that really bearing fruit? Is busyness stealing your peace?

Let us look together at a Biblical principle concerning the children of God bearing fruit, through this little excerpt:

I once heard of a guard who watched over a certain plot of ground at Buckingham Palace in England. For 100 years, 24 hours a day, that plot of land had been guarded.

Finally, someone asked, ‘What are you guarding?’ He didn’t know and simply said it had been under guard for 100 years. It turned out that 100 years ago, the queen had planted some rose bushes there and wanted to make sure they grew. Now, a century later, a guard stood where a rose bush once stood, guarding nothing.

The Lord wants us to be fruitful.

How does God get this point across to every child of His? First, the message of John 15:1-8 makes this clear. Consider some excerpts from what Jesus said to His apostles in that setting: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit . . . Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abode in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned . . . Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”

Concerning the necessity of bearing fruit, from these verse we learn that branches, which are symbols of/represent disciples of Jesus, if they do not bear fruit, are cast away and eventually are burned (15:2,6). God is glorified when Jesus’ disciples bear fruit (15:8). And, true disciples will bear fruit (15:8).

The Lord wants us to be fruitful in the right things.

It is not enough just to bring forth fruit or to produce something. No, the Lord wants each of us to be fruitful in the right things. What might that be? Paul prayed for the saints in Philippi to be filled with “the fruits of righteousness(Philippians 1:11). He also prayed that the Christians in Colosse would be “fruitful in every good work(Colossians 1:10). As we noticed earlier, being unfruitful is put in contrast to maintaining good works in Titus 3:14. So what do we see in these verses? The Lord wants us to be fruitful in the ways of righteousness or good works. That means to be participants in what the Bible portrays as proper or good activities. That would surely include those items contained in “the fruit of the Spirit(Galatians 5:22,23).

The Lord wants us to be fruitful for His glory.

What is it that brings glory to the Father? Jesus said, “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit. . .” (John 15:8). I should not be interested in doing things in order to bring attention to myself. My motive in bearing fruit ought not be to have others praise me. The Master said that our good works should be seen by others alright, but our goal must be for those that see our good works or fruits to glorify our heavenly Father (Matthew 5:16).

Are there things you’re doing but you don’t know why you’re doing them anymore? God never called us to be busy. He called us to be fruitful. Too much pointless activity doesn’t bear fruit and only stresses us out.

The moral of the story is simply this: just because we’re doing activities doesn’t mean that we’re taking ACTION! Action is the cause, activity is the effect! You’ll know that you’re in ACTION when you’re bearing fruit!

fruit·ful

[froot-fuhl]  adjective  1. producing good results; beneficial; profitable: fruitful investigations.

2. abounding in fruit, as trees or other plants; bearing fruit abundantly.

3. producing an abundant growth, as of fruit: fruitful soil; fruitful rain.

Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, help me take an inventory of my life and cut out pointless activity. I don’t want to be too busy. Show me how to live a more fruitful life. AMEN!

Perfect By God!

50 dollar bill

Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

A well-known speaker started off his seminar holding up a $50.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $50 bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $50 to one of you but first, let me do this.”

He proceeded to crumple up the $50 dollar bill. He then asked, “Who still wants it…?” Still the hands were up in the air. “Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air.

“My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $50. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.”

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.

You are very special, not based on what you’re going through – but because you’re a creation of God (….and, God saw all that he had made, and it was very good Genesis 1:31)- and Don’t You EVER Forget It!

If this helped you…please share it! If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it may bring.

Perfect By God

Count your blessings, not your problems.

…then it’s probably God!

If It Sounds To Good To Be True…

(then It’s probably God!)

With God_PossibleI know that you’ve heard the old saying that ‘if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is’. People usually say this when presented with an opportunity that is beyond their wildest dreams or expectations. This is especially true, when we’re confronted with MLM’s or home-based business opportunities.

Many of us have a built-in automatic negative mindset trigger! This attitude allows us to pass over opportunity, after opportunity – forgetting all the while:

  • that with God ALL things are possible! {Matthew 19:26 / Mark 10:27}
  • That God has the ability to do above anything that we can ask or think! {Ephesians 3:20-21}
  • That God has, is, and will forever be working on our behalf! {Romans 8:31}
  • God will ALWAYS have our BEST interest at heart {Jeremiah 29:11}

The sad part is, we hardly ever investigate or do our due diligence on what’s being presented to us. We automatically assume that since it sounds that ‘good’ – then it must be a scam, pyramid scheme, or fraud…right? Yes, I do understand, that there are plenty of less unsavory people out there; who’s only interest is to take advantage of you – and  make you vulnerable in the name of profits (if you let them, or better yet…if God let’s them!). {Matthew 7:15}

However, my problem is we often (and very easily I might add) – “miss” our blessings, because we don’t follow these instructions:

  • Make A List: First write down the priorities you believe God would have in your situation. Again, “…God would have in your…”. These are not the things that are important to you, but rather the things that are most important to God! Ask questions like: Will the outcome of my decision draw me closer to God? Will this opportunity Glorify God? How will it impact those around me?
  •  Seek God for Advice: Acknowledging God implies that we first ascertain whether what we’re about to take on is in accordance with His will and plan for our lives. This may even include seeking counsel from a spiritually mature person (i.e. Pastor, Elder, Parent..etc.).

Proverbs 3:6 – In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 15:22 – Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.

Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

  • Be Willing to Accept and Obey Gods’ Answer: It is absolutely essential that you and I humbly and fully submit to the Word of God during this process.

John 15:14 – If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (Jesus speaking)

  • Take ACTION on “our” Decision: If we have arrived at our decision with the sincere intention of pleasing the heart of God, incorporating biblical principles and wise counsel, we can then proceed with confidence knowing that God will work out his purposes through our decisions.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

So, you see everything may not too good to be true; especially when you acknowledge God!! The next time some presents you with an opportunity (especially if you prayed about [it]) – please don’t limit yourself, by thinking that it’s out of your realm of possibility.

From this point on, instead of saying, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”…continue to say, “if it sounds too good to be true, then it’s probably God!”

Forget Perspective: Just Put The Glass Down!

is-the-glass-half-empty-or-half-full_medium

Is the glass half full, or half empty?
It depends on whether you’re pouring, or drinking.”  ~Bill Cosby

There are things, habits, situations, comforts, attachments and even people that we must give up if we’re to get to the next level in God!

The following story illustrates this point:

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”

It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. Put all your burdens down. Remember to put the glass down!

~Author Unknown

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. {Hebrews 12:1}
